When a parameter in an event is indexed, it makes it easier and quicker for applications to filter and fetch specific logs from the massive pile of data on the blockchain.

Impact

It will be much more slower for the events to be parsed which may cause all kinds of undesirable effects.
They are used to parses and mints the corresponding tokens on L2.
