008_HIGH_double-withdraw-possible

Description

The withdraw function allows the campaign creator to transfer collected funds to their wallet. However, the current implementation fails to update the campaign's internal state to reflect that a withdrawal has already occurred. specifically, amount_raised is not reset to 0, nor is is_withdrawn set to true.

This violation of the "Checks-Effects-Interactions" pattern creates a critical Double Spend / Indefinite Withdrawal vulnerability.

  1. Mechanism: The creator calls withdraw. The program transfers amount_raised.

  2. Flaw: The program remembers amount_raised as high, but forgets it paid it out.

  3. Exploit: The creator calls withdraw again. The program sees the high amount_raised and attempts to transfer that amount again.

    • Note: This second transfer will succeed if the PDA account has received any new funds (rent exemption return, new erroneous deposits, or late contributions).

Recommended Mitigation Steps

Apply the "Effects" part of Checks-Effects-Interactions by updating the state before or immediately in conjunction with the transfer.

Application of Fix

1. Reset State:
Set amount_raised = 0 immediately.

2. (Optional) Close Account:
Mark is_withdrawn = true or close the account completely.

A creator launches a campaign to fund a 10 SOL project. 2. Contributors donate a total of 10 SOL, reaching the goal. 3. The creator withdraws the 10 SOL (withdrawal succeeds) when goal is reached and deadline past. 4. The `amount_raised` in the contract remains at 10 SOL, though the actual balance is now 0. 5. A new contributor donates 2 SOL to support the ongoing project. 6. The creator tries to withdraw this new contribution. 7. The withdrawal fails with an "InsufficientFunds" error because the contract tries to withdraw 12 SOL (the accumulated `amount_raised`), but only 2 SOL is available in the account. 8.
