Missing access control on Snowman::mintSnowman allows anyone to mint unlimited NFTs for free

Description

  • Snowman::mintSnowman is intended to be called only by the SnowmanAirdrop contract, after a user has staked Snow tokens equal to the amount of NFTs they receive.

    The function has no access control, so any external address can call it directly and mint any number of NFTs to any receiver without staking anything.

    • This will occur any time an attacker calls mintSnowman directly, which requires no prior state, no Snow tokens, and no interaction with SnowmanAirdrop — the function is a single unguarded external call away from anyone.

    • The bug is trivially discoverable by reading the public ABI of Snowman.

Impact:

  • Any address can mint an unlimited supply of Snowman NFTs for free, bypassing the entire stake-to-earn mechanic.

  • The NFT collection has no real scarcity or backing, making the airdrop and its underlying Snow token economically meaningless.

The test below deploys Snowman in isolation — with no SnowmanAirdrop contract involved at all — and has a random, unprivileged address call mintSnowman directly. No Snow tokens are held, staked, or approved beforehand. The call succeeds and mints 1000 NFTs straight to the attacker, proving the function is reachable and abusable with zero prerequisites.
