Missing access control on `Snowman::mintSnowman` lets anyone mint unlimited Snowman NFTs for free, bypassing the airdrop

Root + Impact

mintSnowman has no caller restriction, so anyone can mint unlimited Snowman NFTs without staking any Snow, defeating the entire airdrop.

Description

  • Snowman NFTs are meant to be minted only by SnowmanAirdrop::claimSnowman, after a recipient passes the Merkle-proof and EIP-712 signature checks and stakes their Snow tokens.

  • Snowman::mintSnowman is declared external with no access-control modifier, so any account can call it directly and mint any number of NFTs to any address, with no Snow, no fee, and no proof.

Risk

Likelihood:

  • Occurs whenever any account calls mintSnowman directly — the call is permissionless and requires no Snow balance, payment, signature, or Merkle proof.

  • The contract even declares error SM__NotAllowed(); which is never used anywhere, confirming the authorization check was omitted.

Impact:

  • Unlimited Snowman NFTs can be minted for free by anyone, fully bypassing the staking/airdrop mechanism.

  • The total NFT supply and the tokenId counter become attacker-controlled, destroying the intended "1 Snowman per 1 staked Snow" invariant.
